Just wanted to share some images from this beautiful wedding I worked on a couple months ago- the bride was beyond lovely to collaborate with, and had some wonderful ideas for how to incorporate calligraphy into her event, including scripting on marble hexagons for place cards, and turning their names into a custom burlap welcome banner. See more photos here. Gorgeous photography by Sarah Kathleen Photography.
I had the incredible honor of being interviewed by Tristan of the beautiful Besotted Blog back in September, and wanted to link to it here in this space. She has an awesome calligrapher interview series that is such a treasure trove of inspiration and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. And as a bonus, the Mary Oliver quote that I penned, above, she turned into a downloadable wallpaper– so fun! It was a four-part interview, and you can read them all here: Intro, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4. Thank you, Tristan! It was such a privilege.
I wanted to share a little bit about a very special client, Joanna, who contacted me to do some lettering for a tattoo a couple of years ago. It was meant to honor her late husband, who had passed away unexpectedly, and I was so honored to be a part of the process of helping her heal. She hasn’t tattooed the lettering on her skin yet, but she recently sent me the link to these amazingly beautiful images, taken by talented photographer Rachelle Derouin. She has had the words “Wherever you go my love will find you (from the Nancy Tillman children’s book) burned onto a special box. It contains photos from the previous shoot they had done as a family of four with Rachelle, shortly before David passed away. What an amazing, strong woman, and such a gorgeous, sweet family. Working with Joanna and poring over these beautiful images of her precious family has made me want to hug my husband and babies a little harder, cherish them tighter, to never forget how numbered our days are. Life is such a precious, fleeting gift.
I pray that this family will be so blessed as they continue to heal, and that God will grant them peace in the process. xo

I was super thrilled with how this tattoo turned out for the lovely Guen. In her own words, it’s “on my right foot for right foot forward and ‘meliora’ means to be better. Something I reflect upon to be a better person, learn everyday, to be kinder, be more giving and grow.” Loved being a part of creating this one.
